foxglove gardening with kids!
annie’s omnium collaboration
In the late Fall Foxglove Gardening visits classrooms and teaches kids a lesson about the life cycle of a flower bulb. Children are asked to bring in a tin can and Foxglove provides a Narcissus ‘paperwhite’ bulb, pea gravel, and care tag. Children plant their bulbs and then observe the bulb grow and blossom over a few weeks in the classroom. The can with bulb goes home to the child’s family as a gift. We hope you enjoy their art and observations as much as we do.
holiday bulb shop
annie’s omnium collaboration
Amaryllis and Paperwhite Bulbs make lovely holiday gifts. These striking flowers bloom indoors over the Winter and bring great joy! Traditionally during November and December Foxglove Gardening in collaboration with Annie’s Omnium participate in holiday craft fairs and pop-up shops where you can buy holiday bulbs for gift giving as well as Annie’s hand made ephemera- artistic cards, calendar, stickers, tags, and such! Every year it is a little bit different… last year in lieu of a pop up shop Annie sent out a artistic mini-catalogue and took orders over the phone and provided a gift delivery service.
We will see what comes together this year! Write us a note on our contact page if you would like to be put on our list for Holiday Happenings!
hanging baskets
for the city of flagstaff
Foxglove has been honored the contract for caring for hanging baskets overflowing with flowers, planters and barrels along the downtown streets North and South of the railroad tracks, and maintaining the Heritage Square pollinator garden with TerraBIRDS for another 2 years. This project has been enthusiastically received and steadily expanding since 2020. Keep an eye out for some additions to the Fourth Street gateway area early this summer.
planters & barrels
in heritage square
In addition to the hanging baskets, Foxglove Gardening also maintains over a dozen wine & whiskey barrels that we planted with ornamental grasses and flowers for the locals and tourists to enjoy throughout the Summer and Fall in Heritage Square, Flagstaff’s ‘zocalo’.

Foxglove hits the streets with a full crew the first week of April. We have some openings for people who have experience in gardening and landscape maintenance… knowledge of horticulture, fine gardening, hand pruning, lawn care, irrigation, small motor mechanics are all skills we value. If you have a strong work ethic, enjoy working outside, and want to learn we welcome your resume.
pollinator garden
collaboration with TerraBIRDS
Pollinators (butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds) that find their way to Heritage Square enjoy the Colorado Plateau wildflowers created in collaboration with TerraBIRDS. A stone ‘sacred’ (built by John Taylor & students of TerraBIRDS) pays homage to the San Francisco Peaks. If you value and appreciate the baskets, planters, and downtown gardens please let the City of Flagstaff know!
